Solution overview
Altrix Trace is the computer-forensics software initiative within the Altrix portfolio. Its current development direction focuses on collecting accessible computer evidence, preserving case context, verifying copied data, and giving examiners a clear starting point for review.
The engineering preview brings case details, logical file collection, an early raw-drive imaging path, evidence listings, byte-level inspection, and report outputs into a native Windows application. Its scope is deliberately defined around the evidence and examination functions implemented in this build.
Record case details and collection scope, collect readable files and folders, and inspect acquisition status. The preview also includes an early raw-drive imaging path.
Calculate hashes during copying, reread destination data for comparison, and retain verification information alongside the acquisition record.
Filter evidence listings, inspect a file's initial bytes in hex, and search for literal byte sequences within collected files.
Prepare acquisition reports and file inventories in HTML and CSV, with initial analysis paths for selected Windows shortcut fields and event-log records.
ALTRIX
Record the case and examiner details, establish the collection scope, and identify accessible source material and a separate destination.
Run the collection, review completed and skipped items, and compare destination hashes before proceeding with examination.
Use the evidence list and focused inspection tools, then review report outputs together with the collection and verification results.
